How To Get An Instrument & Supplies
Please see information here about our equity funding program if you have any financial concerns at all. We believe strongly that every student should be able to participate in our program no matter what!
1) How to Get An Instrument
Flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, trumpet, trombone, or percussion*:
These instruments can be rented or purchased from either of our local music stores, St. Johns Music and Long and McQuade Music. If you have contacted your music store of choice and find you are unable to cover the cost of an instrument rental at this time, please contact us about our equity funding program. *Percussionists need a bell kit that comes with a set of bells and mallets, drum/practice pad and drumsticks.
Bass clarinet, bari sax, french horn, euphonium/baritone or tuba:
Because these particular instruments are a higher cost to rent from the local music stores, these instruments are available to rent through the school board instead. Please complete an Instrument Loan form. The fee can be paid all at once or in smaller increments throughout the year ($75 twice, $15/month, etc.) Payment(s) can be made through SchoolCashOnline like any other schools fees. If needed, cash or cheques (made out to your school) will be accepted as well. Students will receive their instrument once we begin classes in the fall.
